History

The Deliverance Baptist Church was first established as Deliverance Mission on November 24, 2002. As an Associate Minister of the Maranatha Baptist Church for more than 20 years it was always a desire of Rev. Darryl C. Fennell to lead the people of God to a higher place of praise. The mandate on his life was great and so Deliverance was birthed.  In the infant stages Deliverance Baptist Church was located on 192nd Street and Linden Blvd in a one-room office space. By God’s grace we out grew that space and we were able to relocate to a larger facility where we currently worship and serve our community.  

The Deliverance Baptist Church has seen many peaks and some valleys as we strive to press towards the mark of the high calling but we’ve NEVER lost our praise.  The Deliverance Baptist Church currently has approximately 12 ministries that function within. These ministries continue to strengthen the prayer lives of our members, gives accountability to our congregation, contribute to the up keep of our sanctuary, maintain the spiritual integrity of our church and connect the dots for our surrounding community between God and man. 

The Deliverance Baptist Church has been the catalyst for many new carriers of God’s word. Deliverance Baptist Church has encouraged and supported the people of God to go forth in the will of God for their lives by providing a space for other places of worship to meet. Deliverance has also assisted young entrepreneurs with a place to call home for their new business endeavors in addition to being a community center for community liaisons to reach the people they serve. Deliverance is a beacon of light in the Cambria Heights community, which is the mission of the church, to show the agape love that God so freely gave to each of us.  

It is the desire of The Deliverance Baptist Church to continue in whatever way they can to uplift, equip and motivate the people of God to walk with integrity and love, to be accountable to our brothers and sisters in Christ and to be consistent in their efforts to maintain a relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Deliverance Baptist Church knows what the quality of what healthy family relationships mean to the Body of Christ and to the community, so we seek to maintain that family structure in all we do. Whether its collaborating with our local police department to bring awareness to the community, hosting a family game night or having weekly prayer meeting and bible study with our family of believers we foster that relationship building with the understanding that “The Best is Yet to Come.” 

Reverend Darryl C. Fennell stepped out on faith with the vision given by God and on November 24, 2002 started Deliverance Mission. In February 2003 the Mission was incorporated. Pastor Fennell has since moved the congregation into a new building in Cambria Heights, New York. With Pastor Fennell leadership the church has since birthed many programs and ministries to the benefit of the church and community.

• Established Men and Women’s Ministries:  determined to strengthen the spiritual lives of the members and the community
• Most recently established Boost Academics a basic educational instrument to strengthen our children's core knowledge

Our goal is to reach our community one person at a time, and that all may see Jesus.

Pastor Fennell has been a minister of the gospel for 38 years. He is a Clergy Liasion for the 105th Pct and a Chaplain for the Roosevelt, NY Volunteer Fire Department. He is the father of three girls and the proud grandfather of two grand-daughters.
